Abstract

Fog computing has emerged as a pivotal paradigm to support low-latency and context-aware information technology (IT) services by extending cloud capabilities to the network edge. By deploying computing, storage, and networking resources closer to end devices, fog computing minimizes latency, optimizes bandwidth, and enhances service reliability. This comprehensive review explores fog computing architectures, deployment models, resource management techniques, and integration with IoT and edge systems. Performance evaluation, security considerations, and future research directions for low-latency IT services are also discussed. The study highlights the role of fog computing in enabling real-time analytics, intelligent decision-making, and efficient resource utilization in modern IT infrastructures. [1–5]
